Blindspot renewed for a season 5 which will be the last

Blindspot

The fate of Blindspot is finally sealed. Despite the recent deprogramming of the series by NBC, which removed it from its grid at the end of April, to three episodes of the end of its season 4, the American channel has just announced that the conspiracy thriller carried by Jaimie Alexander and Sullivan Stapleton would be back next season for a fifth and final salvo of episodes that will offer a real end to the Jane Doe / Remi Briggs story.

According to TVLine, this season 5 should be shorter than the previous ones and contain a maximum of 13 episodes. Blindspot being the least watched drama in the chain, with an average rate of 0.5 this season on the target of 18/49 years, this renewal is somewhat unexpected but will in any case avoid fans an end of series bastard since the creator and showrunner of the series, Martin Gero, recently revealed, to TVLine always, that the final of season 4 was going to "reinvent the series in a huge way" and would have acted as "very bad final series" in case of cancellation. So hear that the fourth season will end on a big cliffhanger which, fortunately, deliver his answers during the final salvo of episodes to come.

Blindspot season 4 will resume on May 24 on NBC and the two-part finale will be aired a week later, on May 31.
